Highlights

The Aeolian Islands are the pearls of Tyrrhenian Sea, and you will get the chance to swim and snorkel in secluded bays with crystal-clear water and dark beaches made of fine, black lava sand. Your daily land excursions will provide a pleasant contrast to the social life on board, and there are many activities to choose from. You could hire mopeds on Lipari and explore the island's many charms, or go on a shopping tour on the elegant and chic Panarea, the most luxurious of the islands. On Salina you can find the sweetest wines, and freshest capers. A real highlight is experiencing the fiery Stromboli, the most active volcano in Europe on an adventurous night-time hike. You can also climb Vulcano which is a slumbering volcano known for its pungent sulphur fumes, as well as enjoy a healing bath in the sulphur mud and the bubbling sea.

Sail to Fire: Vulcanos

A highlight of our sailing trips is visiting the most active volcanoes in Europe. If you charter the vessel as a group, we can organise week long trips for groups to Mount Etna, Stromboli and Vulcano. With a two-week plan we can travel additionally to Mount Vesuvius. The volcanic hikes are one of the most impressive natural experiences that one can get, and you get up close with the elements on these bespoke trips.

Depending on the wind and weather

While there are certainly many possible hightlights to be found during a trip on board SV Florette to the Aeolian Islands, the exact route is always dependent on the weather conditions. The Captain may alter the programme at any time, if deemed important for the safety and wellbeing of the guests. Therefore it is possible that not all highlights mentioned in your route can be visited due to the weather conditions. A true ship's journey always makes the most of unscheduled highlights.
